Gotham Whale Memberships help us support the whales of NYC

Whales, dolphins, and seals.... Oh my!
 
In the last few years marine mammals have been returning to the waters around New York City. Gotham Whale is the first organization to research, educate, and advocate for these amazing animals that are seen "with the skyline of Manhattan in the background".
 
Help us become a self-sustaining entity as a 501 c 3 not-for-profit organization by joining Gotham Whale. To be part of this exciting and important work, become a Gotham Whale member.

Menhaden or "Bunker" - $20

The key to our Whale's return, menhaden are the sustenance for all our whales. This is the Basic membership, which includes:

  • Bumper sticker
  • Quarterly newsletter, The Gam
  • Invitation to special event and programs

Dolphin or Individual - $75


Includes everything in Basic membership plus:

  • 1 free whale or seal watching cruise on the American Princess for one person.
  • $10 off additional cruise tickets on subsequent trips
  • 20% off items from Gotham Whale Store

Minke or Dual - $125


Includes everything in Basic membership plus:

  • 1 free whale or seal watching cruise on the American Princess for two people. Note: this cannot be split into multiple trips.
  • $10 off additional cruise tickets on subsequent trips
  • 20% off items from Gotham Whale Store

Humpback or Family - $150

Includes everything in Basic membership plus:

  • 1 free whale or seal watching cruise on the American Princess for two adults and two children. Note: this cannot be split into multiple trips.
  • $30 each for additional children
  • $10 off additional cruise tickets on subsequent trips
  • 20% off items from Gotham Whale Store

Blue Whale or Sponsor - $1000


Corporate or personal contribution to sustain our efforts Includes everything in Basic membership plus:

  • Free cruises for 10 on the American Princess

The beautiful images for our cetacean membership categories were provided by the talent and generosity of Pieter Folkens, renowned illustrator and author. Pieter’s work includes, Guide to Marine Mammals of the World, Sea Mammals of the World, Guide to the Marine Mammals of Alaska, Human Osteology, Meeting the Whales, many more books, plus gorgeous and informative posters. Pieter combines Art and Action in his passion for whales as a researcher and disentanglement specialist. Gotham Whale thanks Pieter for his generous support.

Note: Gotham Whale works in association with American Princess Cruises, a commercial whale watching company. Membership in Gotham Whale entitles participants to the free cruises as described above. The membership is partially deductible as a charitable donation.  The cruises must be booked thorough the American Princess office. Gotham Whale, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to the study, advocacy for and education about the whales and marine mammals of New York City through Citizen Science. US Tax ID No. 47-4183517. Duly registered with the Charities Bureau of the New York State Office of the Attorney General. In accordance with IRS regulations, contributions are deductible to the extent allowed by law.
